Galway received a seasonal jobs boost with the announcement of 80 new jobs at global medtech company Aerogen, when it opened its new engineering labs in the city at the weekend.

In support of an active lifestyle in the community through cycling and walking Connacht Rugby recently teamed up with local med-tech Company Aerogen and the Connemara Greenway Alliance project.

These are probably the best known and best worn set of steps in Galway. They were built in the 1855 - 59 period while the present Augustinian Church was being constructed. The site was slightly higher than the road level so the steps were required at the front and the back of the church. The Augustinian connection with the city goes much further back than that.

Joe Canning’s late consolation goal closed the gap back to four, but in reality Kilkenny were much further ahead at the end that the scoreboard suggested.
